Emily has called Boys Ranch, Texas, home for the past 13 years. She believes the love, support and opportunities at Boy Ranch have prepared her for life after graduation.

Though she says she will miss all the staff, teachers and coaches, she wants to thank Boys Ranch Independent School District teacher and coach Katie Shepherd in particular for being the Godly role model she needed.

Emily will complete Bridge the Gap this summer. Bridge the Gap is a program at Boys Ranch that allows our young graduates to stay in our supportive community over the summer months while they continue to learn skills for their future careers. Then, in the fall, Emily plans to attend West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

Her best advice to current and future youth at Boys Ranch is to “take ahold of the opportunities.”
